Poco F7 to be unveiled with Snapdragon processor: Release date confirmed!

Xiaomi's sub-brand, Poco, has announced that it will unveil its highly anticipated new smartphone, the Poco F7, on June 24. The device, which will take the stage at an event starting at 17:30 India time (15:00 Turkey time), appears set to heat up the competition in the mid-to-high segment.

With the announcement of the launch date, some design and technical details of the Poco F7 have also come to light. Images shared by the Poco India and Poco Global teams on the social media platform X included images of a limited edition version of the device.

While the dual-camera setup on the rear panel draws attention, the "50MP OIS" label confirmed that the device will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization support.

TO BE OFFERED WITH SNAPDRAGON PROCESSOR

It has also been revealed that the Poco F7 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. While the Snapdragon logo on the back of the device provides a strong hint regarding the choice of processor, the technical details have not yet been fully disclosed.

However, it is suggested that the Poco F7 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro introduced in China. That model comes with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

FEATURES A GIANT BATTERY

According to information leaked on the India-based e-commerce platform Flipkart, the Poco F7 will have a giant battery with a capacity of 7550 mAh. The device also stands out with 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging support.

The device, which opts for a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel for the screen, will offer 1280p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. These features are expected to promise users a fluid visual performance, especially in gaming and multimedia experiences.

In terms of memory, it is rumored that the device will be launched with 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage space. When these system specifications are combined, it aims to provide high performance in daily use while also delivering a powerful experience for gaming and intensive multitasking.

The 50 MP main camera on the back of the device is expected to be accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, there will be a 20 MP selfie camera. Thanks to the optical image stabilization feature, the main camera is expected to perform well even in low-light conditions.

THAT RARE FEATURE IN THE MID-SEGMENT

The fact that the Poco F7 comes with an IP68 certification documents the device's resistance to dust and water. This level of protection stands out as a feature rarely seen in the mid-segment.

It is claimed that Poco will only offer this model for sale in India as a base version, and that Pro and Ultra variants will not be available in this market for now. However, it is likely that different variants will be offered in the global market.

HAS THE PRICE BEEN DETERMINED?

There has been no official statement yet regarding pricing. However, considering Poco's previous pricing strategies, the F7 is expected to come with an affordable price tag relative to the hardware it offers.

All details are expected to be clarified at the launch event on June 24.
