Prominent business figure Yılmaz Ulusoy passes away: Funeral to be held today

Yılmaz Ulusoy, a prominent figure in the business world, had been receiving treatment for a long time due to a blood clot. However, despite all the efforts of the doctors, he passed away on February 23. The death of Ulusoy, a partner at Ulusoy Denizcilik A.Ş. and Chairman of the Board of Yılmaz Ulusoy Holding, has caused great sadness in the business world.

FUNERAL TO BE HELD TODAY

The funeral of the late businessman will be laid to rest at the Ulus Cemetery following the noon prayer to be held today at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. His family, loved ones, and many important figures from the business world are expected to attend the ceremony.

In an interesting coincidence, Yılmaz Ulusoy's date of death, February 23, is also the anniversary of the death of his older brother, Saffet Ulusoy, who was considered a pioneer of the logistics sector. Saffet Ulusoy was known as a figure who made significant contributions to the development of Ro-Ro transportation in Turkey.

DEEP-ROOTED CAREER IN THE BUSINESS WORLD

Born in 1941 in the Of district of Trabzon, Yılmaz Ulusoy began his business life at Ulusoy Holding. He left there in 2008 to establish his own company, Yılmaz Ulusoy Holding. He also held important positions such as Council Member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), the Chamber of Shipping (DTO), and membership in TÜSİAD.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO SPORTS

Ulusoy played an active role not only in the business world but also in the sports community. He served as the president of the Samsunspor Club between 1968 and 1971 and made significant contributions to Turkish sports.

Ulusoy, who was deemed worthy of many awards throughout his successful business career, most recently received the "Business World Honorary Award" at the 18th Ekovitrin Stars of the Year Award Ceremony.

Married to Serap Ulusoy, Yılmaz Ulusoy was a father of three and a grandfather of five. Throughout his life, he placed great importance on his family and his work.
