Reuters survey: Turkey's most and least trusted media outlets revealed

The 2024 Digital News Report, prepared by the Reuters Institute at the University of Oxford, evaluated trust in news sources in Turkey.

The report, which states that trust in news in Turkey remains at 35 percent, also notes that trust in media outlets that provide critical coverage has increased compared to last year.

The report also ranked the 'most trusted' and 'least trusted' media organizations. In the data compiled through a survey method, participants were given the names of 15 media organizations and asked how much they trusted the news published by these outlets on a scale of 0-10 (0-'not at all reliable' and 10-'completely reliable'). Those who had not heard of the brand name were excluded from the results.

The details of the survey's scoring system are as follows:

0-4 points: 'I do not trust'

5 points: 'I neither trust nor distrust'

6-10 points: 'I trust'

The results were published with the warning that "whether participants find a brand trustworthy depends on their subjective judgment, and the scores are an aggregate of public opinion rather than an objective assessment of fundamental reliability."
