Scandal at a care home in Niğde! 'Despite receiving 4.7 million TL in support...'

The Private Güven Care Center in the Altunhisar district of Niğde has come to the fore due to conditions unworthy of human dignity. Despite the 4.7 million TL in monthly support provided by the state for disabled individuals, the 102-capacity center has drawn backlash for its poor conditions.

Despite the 44 thousand TL in support the state provides for each disabled individual, the living conditions at the center were brought to light as a result of complaints from families. It is alleged that despite repeated complaints made to the Ministry of Family and Social Services, no serious steps were taken.

OWNER OF THE CENTER TURNS OUT TO BE AN AKP OFFICIAL

According to a report by Erdem Atay from Veryansın TV, the owner of the center is Kahraman Doygun, the AKP Bor District Organization President. His father, Neşet Doygun, serves as the Mayor of Altunhisar. It is stated that the center, which opened in 2017 with the participation of the then-Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş, generates significant income through state support.

ANOTHER NEW CENTER OPENED

It has emerged that Kahraman Doygun did not settle for just the center in Altunhisar and opened a second care center in the Bor district with a capacity of 300 people. It is emphasized that these centers generate millions in monthly income with state support.

ALLEGATIONS THAT INSPECTIONS WERE BLOCKED

Allegations that inspections of the center were blocked and that attempts were made to cover up the poor conditions have caused a major stir in public opinion. It is stated that although some arrangements were made following complaints from families, the conditions have still not been improved.

It is stated that the negligence and lack of inspections at these state-supported centers must be addressed.
