Search efforts for university student Rojin continue on the 4th day

Search efforts for 21-year-old university student Rojin Kabaiş, who went missing in Van on the evening of September 27, continue for the 4th day.

A surface radar device belonging to the gendarmerie is also being used in the search operations conducted in and around Lake Van.

Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Child Development Department at the Faculty of Education of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), went out after eating dinner at the dormitory where she was staying.

However, her friends, who could not reach Kabaiş, who did not return, by phone either, reported the situation to the police on September 28 at 12:00.

In the investigation conducted by the police, it was determined that Rojin Kabaiş told her friends on September 27 at around 18:30 that she was going to the shore of Lake Van to collect pebbles, but this offer was turned down.

During searches conducted by her friends on the shores of Lake Van on September 28, Kabaiş's mobile phone, headphones, cake, and water were found. The items discovered were handed over to the police for examination.

It has been learned that before she went missing, Rojin told her mother, with whom she spoke on the phone, that she was going to the market to buy water and cake.

Following this, search efforts initiated by police, gendarmerie, Coast Guard, AFAD, and Van Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams are continuing.

While riot police and mounted police units are combing the shores of Lake Van, gendarmerie, police, AFAD, and fire department teams are conducting search operations on the lake using boats and vessels.

A surface radar device belonging to the gendarmerie is also being used in the search efforts.
