An unexpected development has occurred regarding the series 'Şakir Paşa Ailesi: Mucizeler ve Skandallar', which meets viewers on NOW screens.

The new episode of the popular production will not be aired. According to the report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş, a decision that will upset fans has been made regarding the series broadcast on NOW TV.

Previously, the grandchildren of the Şakir Paşa family had made a public statement saying, "The series is being filmed without our permission."

On the other hand, the set, which was created by a 44-person team on a 1200 m² plateau in Kartal, where the historical mansion in Büyükada—where a large part of the series takes place—was redesigned exactly, was reduced to ashes in a fire that broke out at midnight.

Immediately after this incident, the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) issued a 3 percent fine to the series on the grounds that it "does not protect private spaces and contains elements contrary to morality with scenes involving twisted relationships and sexuality."

A critical decision has also come from the court for the series, which has remained on the agenda recently due to both the subjects it covers and the events that have taken place. As a result of the lawsuit filed by the grandchildren of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, it was ruled that the broadcast of the series should be stopped.

"Regarding the series, which constitutes a grave attack on the reputation and honor of our family, specifically our great-grandfather Şakir Paşa and our grandfather Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, and which has turned into a character assassination of our grandfathers in an unfair and untruthful manner under the guise of a script, the honorable Istanbul 10th Civil Court of First Instance has ruled in the lawsuit we filed to stop the broadcast of the existing episodes of the series and to stop the filming and broadcast of new episodes."

PRODUCTION COMPANY TAKES ACTION

While this decision creates major question marks about the future of the series, the series' production company, Medyapım, is preparing to take the necessary legal steps on Monday with its lawyers to cancel the decision. It was learned that the filming of the series, which also received a 3-time broadcast suspension penalty from RTÜK on Wednesday, will continue outside of the mandatory break given due to snowfall.

According to the report by Birsen Altuntaş, it was stated that the channel currently has one episode in stock. If everything had gone well for the series this Sunday, a special dinner invitation was going to be held at the Sait Halim Paşa Mansion. However, the invitation had been canceled in the afternoon hours before the RTÜK fine due to heavy snowfall.

The series 'Şakir Paşa Ailesi: Mucizeler ve Skandallar' has become the most eventful series of recent times. Initially planned as an 8-episode digital series for Disney, it was converted into a long-running mainstream project when the Disney CEO changed and the purchase of local projects was halted.
