Shocking fraud in doner kebab: Ministry announces new list

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has published a new list dated December 6, 2024, continuing to expose food producers that endanger human health.

The Ministry continues its public awareness efforts by sharing the results obtained from inspections at "guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr" address.

In the updated list released, fraud in products such as olive oil, meat doner, meatballs, and vegetable oils drew attention. The list, which includes two main categories—foods that are imitated or adulterated and products that threaten health—aims to help citizens choose products they can consume safely.

SEED OIL DETECTED IN OLIVE OIL

The Ministry determined that seed oil was used in olive oils belonging to the Mudanya Köy-Koop, Ada, and Lux Ayvalık Körfezim brands. Additionally, it was revealed that dye was used in a herbal mixture oil produced by an individual named Hatice Gecegiden.

SHOCKING FRAUD IN DONER KEBAB

Skin tissue and poultry meat mixture were found in the meat doner produced by the Adana-based company 02 Yasin Poyraz. This finding has increased concerns regarding the need to consume doner kebab safely as a healthy protein source.

SOY IN MEATBALLS

It was determined that soy was used instead of meat in the products of the İzmir-based company Kazan Köfte.
