'Siberian cold' is at the door: Snow is coming to Istanbul!
Due to the 'Siberian cold' that will affect Istanbul, snowfall is expected across the city on Wednesday and Thursday. The latest data shared by AKOM has brought good news to Istanbul residents.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has predicted that snowfall is expected in the city on February 5-6.
In the statement made by AKOM, it was reported that according to the weekly weather forecast report, the city is expected to come under the influence of a cold air wave of Siberian origin starting from Monday, February 3.
Noting that temperatures in Istanbul will drop by 5 - 10°C starting from Tuesday, the statement expressed that snowfall is expected on Wednesday, February 5, and Thursday, February 6.
According to the statement, snowfall of up to 2-5 centimeters on Wednesday and 3-10 centimeters on Thursday may be seen.
