Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 unveiled: Claiming 'best performance in the mid-range'!
Qualcomm has introduced its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Is flagship power possible in the mid-range? The new processor is arriving to push the boundaries in performance and artificial intelligence.
Qualcomm has introduced its new processor developed for mid-range smartphones, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
Manufactured using 4-nanometer production technology, this new chip offers major improvements in both performance and artificial intelligence features compared to last year's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
27% FASTER
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 features an 8-core architecture:
-1 prime core: at 2.8 GHz
-3 performance cores: at 2.4 GHz
-4 efficiency cores: at 1.84 GHz
Thanks to this architecture, the processor runs 27% faster than the previous model. The graphics processor also offers 30% more performance .
The new processor is also ambitious in the field of artificial intelligence. It supports large language models (e.g., ChatGPT-like systems) running on-device.
POWERED BY AI
Furthermore, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the first 7-series processor capable of AI-powered image generation (such as Stable Diffusion).
On the camera side, support for up to 200 MP is provided. HDR videos can be recorded at 4K resolution at 60 fps.
Also notable in this series for the first time are AI-powered autofocus, white balance, and image stabilization features.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 also supports many high-end features such as:
-Fast RAM up to 16 GB (LPDDR5x)
-UFS 3.1 storage support
-Screen refresh rates up to 144 Hz
-Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity
-5G internet speeds up to 4.2 Gbps
-Fast charging (Quick Charge 5)
Thanks to the XPAN (Expanded Personal Area Network) technology introduced for the first time in the new chip, the connection is maintained even if the distance between the headphones and the phone increases.
The first phones to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor are expected to be the Honor 400 and Vivo S30 models.
These devices are planned to be unveiled within the month of May.
