Scientists have developed a type of spaghetti that is 200 times thinner than a human hair.

Researchers from University College London (UCL) have developed a type of spaghetti that is 200 times thinner than a human hair; it is not edible, but it could revolutionize medicine and industry.

This spaghetti is produced from starch, which plants use to store glucose. The researchers developed an eco-friendly method to produce nanofibers directly from flour.

NANOFIBER SPAGHETTI!

One of the researchers, Dr. Adam Clancy, said, "Normal spaghetti is made by pushing a mixture of water and flour through metal holes. We used a similar method, but by pulling the mixture with an electric charge, we obtained spaghetti in the form of nanofibers."

It was stated that the researchers produced this spaghetti using a technique called "electrospinning."

In this method, a mixture of flour and liquid was pulled from needle tips with the help of an electric charge to create fibers with a diameter of 372 nanometers.

TO BE USED IN SCAFFOLD CONSTRUCTION

Professor Gareth Williams said, "These nanofibers, thanks to their porous structure, could be used as bandages that could help wounds heal, or as tissue regeneration scaffolds that mimic the protein network that cells create to support themselves."

IS THE SPAGHETTI EDIBLE?

No. This type of spaghetti is not edible. Experts point out that if cooked, it could dissolve in less than 1 second.
