Surprising remarks about his uncle from Narin's brother who was not detained!

The lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır on August 21, was found 19 days later.

Narin's lifeless body was found on September 8 inside a sack, covered with stones, in the Eğertutmaz Stream near her home.

In the investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, which has become a major topic on Turkey's agenda, 24 people, including family members, have been detained.

Narin's uncle and the headman of Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, and Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to burying Narin's body in the creek bed, have been arrested.

Striking statements have come from the older brother, Baran Güran, who was the only member of the family not taken into custody and who received Narin's body.

Baran Güran stated that his relationship with his uncle, who was arrested before Narin's body was found, was strong, describing him as being 'like a father' to him.

Speaking to Çiğdem Yılmaz from Milliyet, Güran stated that while at the courthouse, his uncle told his son, 'You stand tall. If not today, your father will get out tomorrow.'

On the other hand, Güran's remarks, "If we had killed this girl among ourselves, who would have known? Who would have even suspected? Could anyone have asked us where Narin was? We did everything we could to make our voices heard so that Narin would be found; we were the ones who called the media," drew attention.

The interview given by Baran Güran is as follows:

Question: “When your uncle (the detained Salim Güran) was taken into custody, did you not suspect anything at all, did you not talk about it among the family, did you not discuss this situation at all?”

"MY UNCLE IS LIKE MY FATHER"

Baran Güran: “My uncle is like my father; there is no difference between him and my father. While the search continued day and night, when I was sleeping at night, my uncle was not sleeping and was participating in the search efforts with the team even at night. He would say, ‘Until I bring my daughter back, even if the world collapses on me, I will not sleep.’ My uncle was telling them to search everywhere so she could be found. We are a very close-knit family. My heart is still at ease regarding my uncle. My uncle is my dear; if even my fingernail were to be hurt, my uncle would kill himself.”

While my uncle was at the courthouse, he told his son: 'My son, you are on the outside, keep your head held high; your father will get out. If not today, if not tomorrow, one day he will surely get out. Stand tall among the people, don't get involved with anyone.'

"HOW COULD MY MOTHER DARE TO DO THIS"

Speaking about the allegations brought up regarding his mother and uncle, Güran claimed that his mother was being slandered, stating, "They say, 'There is something between the uncle and the mother, and Narin saw this situation.' My brother was at home until 16:30, and my mother was at home with my aunt."

How could my mother dare to do such a thing? At those hours, my brother was at home, and my other brother, Enes, was around the house. Who would dare to do something like that? If something like that had happened, I would have been the first to react to my mother; I would have grabbed her by the arm and thrown her in front of the police station,” he said.

ALLEGATIONS REGARDING OLDER BROTHER ENES

Evaluating the various allegations raised regarding Narin's older brother Enes, who is in custody, Güran stated the following:

“A lot of things have been said about Enes. Yet, Enes was the one most devoted to Narin at home. When Narin was little, Enes would always rock her on his feet. Since she was our only sister, everyone in the house besides Enes was also especially devoted to Narin. We were 6 siblings, I am the oldest, and we were all very devoted to each other.”

There are also allegations that Enes was using drugs. If such a thing were true, wouldn't it show up in tests? Why wasn't a test conducted? If it had been done, this would have been very easily understood. The bite mark on his arm has also been brought up a lot. The reason for this is the anger and pain he felt over Narin's disappearance; he bit his own arm, but he had never bitten his arm or anything like that before. I also hit my head out of anger the other day; this was a reaction.

"IF WE HAD KILLED HER AMONG OURSELVES, WHO WOULD HAVE HEARD?"

Baran Güran continued his remarks as follows: "They say the family did it. They already say here that we are a deep-rooted family. If we had killed this girl among ourselves, who would have known? Who would have even heard about it? Could anyone have asked us where Narin was? We did everything we could to make our voices heard so that Narin would be found; we were the ones who called the media."

"EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY USES THE VEHICLE"

Stating, "We are the grandchildren of Molla Gürani," Baran Güran said the following: "This family has been a landlord family for a long time. Everyone knows us as landlords. We are criticized because we are deep-rooted. What is wrong with being a deep-rooted family? We are called 'Mala Bag/landlord'. If we were a murderous family, there are so many powerless families here, we would have seized their lands too."

It is claimed that we are wealthy, but we are not some rich family or anything like that. We have land and we are engaged in agriculture, that is all. My father's car is a FIAT, my uncle who is the village headman does not have a car, and the car said to contain the DNA is the vehicle the family uses to go to the land; everyone in the family uses it.

POLITICAL ALLEGATIONS

There is not a single person in my family who supports Hezbollah. But in our family, no one tells anyone else, 'You should vote for this party or that party.' I am not a person who likes politics either. I have no interest in it, near or far. But I know that no one in the family is a member of HÜDAPAR.

‘THERE IS NO LAND DISPUTE’

Baran Güran stated that their family relations are very good, saying, “We have no land dispute or anything like that. Not even once has there been a land dispute between my father and my uncles. My uncle Salim would collect the money from the wheat harvest and divide it among the 6 brothers. This year, 206 thousand TL fell to each brother, and perhaps this is the 200 thousand TL that is said to have been withdrawn. Because he withdrew this money and gave it to the brothers.”

‘MY SISTER TÜLİN DIED IN THE HOSPITAL’

We also asked Baran Güran about the death of his bedridden sister, Tülin Güran, who passed away in 2019 at the Diyarbakır Children's Hospital due to respiratory failure.

Baran Güran stated, "I was also young when my sister Tülin died, I don't remember much. She was bedridden and could not speak. My sister passed away in the hospital anyway. My father has said this before as well. She could not get up from the floor, she was lying on her back."
