ASAL Research has published its latest presidential election poll. A surprising result emerged from the survey, which was conducted with 2,000 people in February.

Participants were asked, "If a presidential election were held this Sunday, who would you want to see as President?"

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who recently became the sole candidate for the CHP's primary election to be held on March 23, ranked third with 18.6 percent.

While President Erdoğan ranked second with 22 percent of the vote, the name that received the most votes was Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş with 24.2 percent.
