The cost of living in Istanbul nears 100 thousand liras!
According to data released by the Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), it has published its research titled Cost of Living in Istanbul. Accordingly, the cost of living in Istanbul in January reached nearly 100 thousand liras.
The Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), has published the results of its research titled 'Cost of Living in Istanbul.' According to the report, the cost of living for a family of 4 in the megacity in January was 82 thousand 880 TL. A 7.10 percent increase was recorded in the cost of living compared to the previous month. This increase reached 56.21 percent on an annual basis.
Significant price increases were identified in basic consumer goods.
While baby formula increased by 67.43 percent and meat-minced meat by 55.10 percent on an annual basis, the increase in sunflower oil was 62.28 percent, and the increase in milk was 42.54 percent.
One of the notable price increases on an annual basis is in shaving supplies, at 92.48 percent.
