The new flag of the Organization of Turkic States has been approved! Its meaning has been revealed

The new flag of the OTS was adopted at the Organization of Turkic States Summit held in Bishkek. The new flag, which emerged through the collective will of the leaders, features an eight-pointed star, a symbol of Turkic identity, and a turquoise blue color that expresses the unity of Turkic nations.

Leaders arrived at the Presidential Palace for the summit, which was hosted by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov under the theme "Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All."

NOTABLE DECISION

An important decision regarding the structure of the organization was taken at the summit meeting.

ADOPTED BY JOINT DECISION

The new flag replaced the original flag, which was first created in 2012, following a joint decision at the latest summit.

The decision on this matter was taken at the 11th Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Bishkek.

The flag was approved by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan: Ilham Aliyev, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Sadyr Japarov, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

MEANING OF THE NEW FLAG

The eight-pointed star on the new flag of the Organization of Turkic States represents the symbol of Turkic identity.

It was stated that the flag's design includes an octagon, a crescent, and a star, along with a sun with evenly distributed straight rays on a turquoise blue background.
