The winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature has been announced
The 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to South Korean author Han Kang.
The Swedish Academy has announced that 53-year-old Han Kang has won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature for her 'intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.'
The Nobel Prizes will be presented to the winners at a ceremony to be held on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Bernhard Nobel's death. The prize comes with a sum of 11 million Swedish kronor (1.1 million dollars) and is shared among the winners if there is more than one.
