I also worked at other closed hospitals due to external shift requirements. I know many of the people mentioned. We worked together and took orders from them. When I left the hospital, I was aware of this situation, and that is why I quit. I filed a complaint with the Ministry of Health. My 3 friends and I realized what was happening in the second week, quit our jobs, and filed a complaint,” he said.

'THE NURSE RECEIVES THE PATIENT AS IF THEY WERE A DOCTOR'

Speaking about the patient transfer process, Karataş said, "The 112 Emergency Health Service calls the hospital and speaks with a doctor. At the hospital where I worked, the head nurse handled these tasks. She presented herself as a doctor, but she was a nurse. After the head nurse introduced herself as a doctor, she would receive the patient, and the patient's relatives would also recognize her as a doctor.

In fact, the incident begins right from the moment the patient arrives at the hospital. After the patient is admitted, it is not a very good intensive care unit, and their treatment is incomplete. The recovery process is prolonged, and even if the patient recovers, they are not discharged. They are exposed to intensive care infections, and the patient loses their life at the end of the process. I never worked in the newborn unit, but the process works exactly the same way there. Intensive care nurses eventually dull their consciences.

We knew without a doubt that they would be caught; in the end, they were caught and are serving their sentences,” he stated.

'THE HOSPITAL KNEW ABOUT THE INSPECTION BEFOREHAND'

Karataş said, “I continued to work at a private hospital and then left there. Our newly graduated friends also do not want to work there because the people who are supposed to train them are these people.

Whether you want to or not, you become a member of this gang. Everyone working in intensive care knows what is being done.

The cleaning staff knows, the auxiliary staff knows, and sometimes even the patients' relatives understand, but they do not speak up because they have no choice but to trust them.

After my complaint, inspectors from the Ministry of Health actually went to that hospital, but the hospital knew about the inspection beforehand and fixed everything,” he said.

While 11 hospitals have been closed so far, the investigation continues.

Minister Tunç had drawn attention to the confidentiality of the investigation in his latest statement.
