Threat to İmamoğlu from Akit columnist: 'Will you be in prison or abroad during the presidential elections?'
Akit columnist Ali Karahasanoğlu made harsh remarks following Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's application for the CHP primary election for the presidency. Addressing İmamoğlu, Karahasanoğlu said, "Who knows who will be alive or dead by the time of the presidential election... Where will you be? In prison, or among those who have fled abroad? Will you be in the CHP, or in a new party you might establish?"
Akit columnist Ali Karahasanoğlu targeted Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, reacting to his application for the CHP primary election for the presidential candidacy.
THREAT TO İMAMOĞLU
Drawing attention to the problems İmamoğlu has faced during his presidential candidacy process, Karahasanoğlu wrote, "Who knows who will be alive or dead by the time of the presidential election... Where will you be, I wonder? In prison, or among those who have fled abroad? Will you be in the CHP, or in a new party you might establish?"
Karahasanoğlu criticized İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy by pointing to the requirement of a university degree.
Stating, "For the first time, this condition will be sought in him. And he does not have a real diploma," Karahasanoğlu emphasized that İmamoğlu does not possess a genuine university diploma.
Karahasanoğlu claimed that İmamoğlu wants to initiate a fabricated process to present himself as a candidate.
Karahasanoğlu concluded his article as follows:
"In order to be a candidate in the real presidential election, he wants to show that he is competing and succeeding by initiating a process he set up within his party as a fabrication."
