Tons of narcotics and millions of pills seized! Ali Yerlikaya announced

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that a total of 839 kilograms of narcotics and 1 million 168 thousand 42 drug pills were seized within the scope of the "NARKOKAPAN-5" operations carried out in 77 provinces over the last two weeks.

Making a statement via his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya announced that 1,713 suspects were also apprehended within the scope of the operations.

The statement noted that the investigations were conducted under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Narcotic Crimes.

The operations, which included many major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Gaziantep, Adana, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, and Diyarbakır, took place in a total of 77 provinces.

According to the information shared by Minister Yerlikaya, 281 kilograms of methamphetamine, 101 thousand 640 drug pills, and 7 kilograms of cannabis were seized in Istanbul, while 97 kilograms of narcotics and 38 thousand drug pills were found in Hatay. Large quantities of various types of narcotics were also seized in Erzurum, Van, Aksaray, Muş, Diyarbakır, Şırnak, and Hakkâri.
