Traffic congestion experienced on the first day of the week
The traffic problem in the megacity continues to increase day by day. Traffic congestion was also experienced in Istanbul during the morning hours of the first workday of the week. Congestion was observed on the D-100 and TEM Highway on both the Anatolian and European sides.
Traffic density increased on the D-100 highway, the TEM motorway, and connecting roads on both the Anatolian and European sides of the city due to the morning rush caused by school hours and commuters heading to work.
Traffic is heavy on the D-100 highway on the European side, specifically in the areas of Küçükçekmece Yenibosna, Edirnekapı, the Haliç Bridge entrance, Halıcıoğlu, Okmeydanı, Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy, and Zincirlikuyu.
There is heavy traffic on the TEM Highway between Bağcılar and Esenler.
While traffic is flowing smoothly at the Mahmutbey Toll Booths, vehicles are moving slowly on the TEM Highway connecting roads due to congestion.
ANATOLIAN SIDE
Traffic congestion is being experienced at the entrances to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and the Eurasia Tunnel, which provide passage from the Anatolian Side to the European Side, as well as on the main and secondary roads connecting to these points.
Traffic is moving slowly on the D-100 highway in the Pendik, Kartal, Maltepe, and Kadıköy districts.
A property-damage accident in the direction of Gebze, at the point where the Tuzla Aydıntepe side road joins the D-100 highway, has increased traffic congestion in the area.
Drivers are moving slowly on the TEM Highway in the Ataşehir, Ümraniye, and Kavacık areas due to heavy traffic.
The congestion at the entrance of the Eurasia Tunnel in the Anatolian-to-European direction extends as far as the Göztepe area.
Traffic density has increased on the TEM connection road in the Kartal Samandıra area due to ongoing construction work. Congestion is also observed on the Turgut Özal Boulevard along the Kartal coast.
Those wishing to use public transportation in the city have also created crowds at metro, metrobus, and bus stops. Passengers passing through the turnstiles to board vehicles at the Altunizade and Mecidiyeköy metrobus stations encountered heavy crowds.
