Trustees appointed to 3 municipalities! How many votes did the mayors receive to win the elections?

Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, Batman Municipality, and Halfeti Municipality have had trustees appointed to them.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the sentences received by all three mayors for the crime of 'being a member of an armed terrorist organization' and ongoing trials were cited as the justification for the trustee decision.

Mardin Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Türk, Halfeti Mayor Mehmet Karayılan, and Batman Mayor Gülistan Sönük have been removed from their posts.

Ahmet Türk, who was the candidate for the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality from the DEM Party in the March 31 local elections, was elected in first place by receiving 57.40 percent of the votes.

Türk was followed by Abdullah Erin from the AK Party with 27.78 percent.

The DEM Party won the election by a 30 percent margin over the AK Party.

Gülistan Sönük, who was the candidate for the Batman Municipality from the DEM Party in the March 31 local elections, was elected mayor by a large margin, receiving 64.52 percent of the votes.

Sönük was followed by HÜDA PAR candidate Serkan Ramanlı with 15.69 percent.

Mehmet Karayılan, who was the DEM Party's candidate for Halfeti Mayor in the March 31 local elections, came in first by receiving 39.45 percent of the votes.

In second place was the AK Party candidate Şeref Albayrak with 34.97 percent.
