The UEFA Super Cup finds its winner: Real Madrid or Atalanta?

The 49th UEFA Süper Cup in football will be decided tomorrow in a match between the Spanish team Real Madrid and the Italian representative Atalanta.

The UEFA Super Cup match, which will feature Real Madrid, the winner of last season's UEFA Champions League final, and Atalanta, the winner of the UEFA Europa League, will kick off at 22:00 (Turkish time) at the Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

In the cup, Real Madrid, where national football player Arda Güler also plays, will seek its 6th title, while Atalanta will aim to secure its first. The match will be broadcast live on TRT 1.

Real Madrid aims to surpass Milan and Barcelona, with whom it currently shares the record for the most UEFA Süper Cup titles, by defeating Atalanta.

If the Madrid team defeats Atalanta, it will hold the title for the most trophy wins in the competition's history outright.

Barcelona, Milan, and Real Madrid have each reached the trophy 5 times in the competition. Barcelona has lost 4 times, Real Madrid 3 times, and Milan 2 times in the Super Cup.

Milan reached for the trophy by defeating Barcelona in 1989, Sampdoria in 1990, Arsenal in 1994, Porto in 2003, and Sevilla in 2007. The Italian team lost the trophy to Ajax in 1973 and to Parma in 1993.

Barcelona won the trophy by defeating Werder Bremen in 1992, Borussia Dortmund in 1997, Shakhtar Donetsk in 2009, Porto in 2011, and Sevilla in 2015. Barcelona failed to take the trophy home after being defeated by Nottingham Forest in 1979, Aston Villa in 1982, Milan in 1989, and Sevilla in 2006.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, emerged victorious against Feyenoord in 2002, Sevilla in 2014 and 2016, Manchester United in 2017, and Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 to claim the title. The Whites were unable to win the trophy against Chelsea in 1998, Galatasaray in 2000, and Atletico Madrid in 2018.
