Warning from experts... Date given for 'serious increase' in rental prices
High rent increases in Turkey are negatively affecting tenants. According to industry experts, a serious increase in rental prices is expected in October.
The deepening economic crisis and the rising cost of living have undoubtedly hit housing and rental prices the hardest.
Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan, during the Inflation Report presentation, signaled that a slowdown is being observed in rent inflation and that price increases are no longer as high as they once were.
However, according to industry officials, rental prices will rise, particularly in October.
With the opening of universities in October, there will be increased moving activity in major cities.
Real estate expert Olcay Selvi stated, "If we take the average rent in Istanbul, the average rent for a 100-square-meter apartment was 20,000 TL. If rent increases are applied to the 20,000 TL, it should rise to around 33,000 lira. Currently, the vacant price for the same apartment is between 25,000 and 27,000 TL."
