Weightlifting excitement on the big screen in Şırnak: Harun Algül is European champion
The performance of national athlete Harun Algül, who won a gold medal at the Junior and U23 European Weightlifting Championships held in Poland, was watched with great enthusiasm on a big screen in his hometown of Şırnak.
Competing in the U23 men's 55kg category during the evening session of the event held at the Raszyn Centrum Sports Hall in the capital Warsaw, Harun Algül won the gold medal with a lift of 106 kilograms in the snatch.
Harun Algül's performance was watched by his family, as well as Governor Birol Ekici, Acting Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Nihat Avcı, Provincial Representative of the Amateur Sports Clubs Federation (ASKF) Murat Umaç, institutional representatives, and citizens holding Turkish flags on a big screen set up at the Şırnak Indoor Sports Hall.
While the national athlete's performance was followed with excitement on the screen, there was great joy in the hall due to the gold medal won.
Congratulating Harun Algül's family, Governor Birol Ekici stated in a post on his social media account, "European champion Harun Algül, you are at the top, Şırnak. Congratulations."
