Whatever happened to prices rising based on the dollar exchange rate? The real figure has emerged
While the impact of exchange rate increases on price hikes is frequently highlighted in price calculations or cost increases, the real figures have emerged.
Former Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) chief economist Hakan Kara made an assessment regarding the gap between prices and exchange rates.
Sharing a post on his social media account, Kara said the following:
"The price-exchange rate gap continues to widen"
"When you perform the same calculation starting from the interest rate cut in September 2021, the following picture emerges:
While the dollar exchange rate has increased 4-fold since September 2021, prices have risen 5.7-fold."
