Where was Gassal filmed?

The series Gassal, starring Ahmet Kural and directed by Selçuk Aydemir, has become the most popular production on TRT's tabii platform. The series is set in a small settlement where people generally know each other. The filming locations were determined accordingly.

The Gassal series does not have a specific filming region. We cannot name a single set area to associate with the series. However, filming generally took place in the Beykoz district of Istanbul and the Gebze district of Kocaeli.

The Gassal series tells the story of Baki, a 30-year-old gassal—that is, a mortician who washes the dead. Living alone, with a small social circle and an unhealthy relationship with his family, Baki is subjected to a cruel prank one day. Three young men surround Baki and stab him with a prop knife. Of course, since it is a prop knife, Baki does not receive even the slightest wound. However, he feels he has come this close to death for the first time. Afterward, he begins to question his life.
