Song Jae Rim made his debut in the 2009 film Actresses. The role of the loyal bodyguard Lord Kim Jae-woon, which he played in the series The Moon Embracing the Sun, brought the actor fame.

Following the success of the series, he appeared in several other projects. These include Two Weeks (2013), in which he portrayed a cold-blooded assassin.
