The series Arka Sokaklar comes to Kanal D screens every Friday evening with a new episode. However, those who turned on Kanal D on December 27, 2024, did not encounter a new episode of Arka Sokaklar. A new documentary broadcast was aired instead of Arka Sokaklar. So, why was the Arka Sokaklar series not broadcast on Friday evening?

This is because the penalty imposed on Arka Sokaklar by RTÜK was implemented on the evening of December 27. The Arka Sokaklar series had examined the subject of cults in its 691st and 692nd episodes. A fine was issued to Kanal D for the episodes that addressed the issue of child abuse within a cult. RTÜK had given Kanal D a 3 percent monetary fine and also imposed a 2-episode suspension penalty on Arka Sokaklar.

Following the penalty decision, Arka Sokaklar actor Şevket Çoruh posted, "I consider it an award," and this post received nearly 13 million views.
