Why is Toyota's vehicle production falling? How many vehicles did Toyota produce in November?

Toyota Motor experienced its 10th consecutive monthly decline in global production in November. The Japanese car giant recorded an increase in its worldwide sales thanks to strong demand in the US and China.

HOW MANY VEHICLES DID TOYOTA SELL IN NOVEMBER?

Toyota produced 869,230 vehicles worldwide in November, marking a 6.2% decrease compared to the same period last year. This decline is greater than the 0.8% decrease recorded in October.

US AND CHINA PRODUCTION SHOWED A DECLINE

Production in the US fell by 11.8%, and despite the production of Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUV models resuming at the end of October after a four-month pause, it showed a slow recovery. Production in China fell by 1.6%. This rate performed better than the 9% decline of the previous month.

NEW FACTORY FOR THE LEXUS BRAND

With the rise of competitors like BYD, Toyota will build an independent factory for the Lexus brand in Shanghai for 2027. With this factory, it also plans to start electric vehicle production.

WHY DID PRODUCTION DECLINE?

In Japan, where Toyota carries out approximately one-third of its global production, output decreased by 9.3% in November, partly due to a two-day production halt at the Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara factories.
