Youths in prison, Hezbollah members in the square: The man who ordered the assassination of Gaffar Okkan held a rally! He insulted the Turkish nation
While thousands of citizens were detained during protests in support of Ekrem İmamoğlu, Hezbollah was granted freedom to hold rallies. Mehmet Beşir Varol, who gave the order for the assassination of Gaffar Okkan, targeted society and the Turkish nation with ugly remarks at a rally held with state permission.
While Turkey is debating the detention of young people on the streets who are exercising their constitutional rights, rallies by platforms linked to the Hezbollah terrorist organization are being permitted.
The fact that Mehmet Beşir Varol, who gave the order for the assassination of former Diyarbakır Police Chief Gaffar Okkan, took the stage at a rally held in Cizre, Şırnak on April 6 by the Prophet Lovers Platform (PSP), known as the political extension of Hezbollah, has caused public outrage.
HE INSULTED THE TURKISH NATION
In his speech at the rally, Varol used insulting expressions toward the Turkish nation while calling on Kurds to engage in jihad. During the same period, nearly 2 thousand people were detained and over 300 citizens were arrested in protests held in support of Ekrem İmamoğlu. Allegations of violence, mistreatment, and the use of disproportionate force during the protests remain on the agenda.
HE SAID, "TURKS REGRESSED AND DISAPPEARED"
In his speech, Mehmet Beşir Varol used discriminatory and hostile language specifically toward the Turkish nation. Stating that "Turks were once an ignorant, oppressed, and nomadic tribe," Varol claimed that the Ottoman Empire rose thanks to Islam, but later "regressed and disappeared from history because they handed their reins over to Europeans."
While using expressions such as, "The Kurdish nation has always been known for its dignity and honor. It has always championed the religion of Allah and His Messenger," Varol used language that fuels ethnic and sectarian division within society. At the end of his speech, he directed Kurds with a call to "jihad," saying, "Let our sheikhs, tribal leaders, and imams take ownership of their own people."
WAVE OF DETENTIONS FOR PROTESTERS, THE STAGE FOR THE TERRORIST
According to the report by Aytunç Ürkmez from Cumhuriyet, 296 young people remain in custody following the protests that began after the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 19. Allegations of disproportionate intervention by security forces during the actions and mistreatment in detention centers are also on the agenda of human rights defenders.
On the other hand, the PSP, known for its proximity to Hezbollah, decided to hold rallies in seven provinces between April 6 and April 27. During the Cizre, Şırnak leg of the rallies, which were held under the slogan "Resistance Leader Prophet Muhammad," "tawhid" and "sharia" flags were carried, and it was observed that children were also present in the crowd.
PARDONED HEZBOLLAH MEMBERS ACTIVE ON THE PLATFORM
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent pardon of individuals who had received aggravated life sentences for events such as the executions carried out by Hezbollah using "pig-tie" methods and the kidnapping and murder of writer Konca Kuriş had drawn backlash.
RALLY SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
Within the scope of the rally program announced by the Hezbollah-backed PSP;
April 6: Cizre (Şırnak)
April 13: Batman
April 14: Gaziantep
April 20: Diyarbakır
April 21: Istanbul
April 27: Rallies will be held in Adana and Van.
"WILL GAFFAR OKKAN'S BLOOD REMAIN UNAVENGED?"
The fact that Mehmet Beşir Varol, who is associated with the assassination of Gaffar Okkan, addressed the public at a rally held under state supervision was met with reaction not only from the opposition front but also by a wide segment of citizens. Thousands of users on social media rebelled against the situation with the hashtag "Will Gaffar Okkan's blood remain unavenged?"
