The painful face of terror in Kahramankazan: Martyred on her wedding anniversary!

In the terrorist attack carried out at TUSAŞ facilities in Ankara, one of the important institutions of Turkey's defense industry, 5 citizens lost their lives and 22 others were injured.

The two terrorists who carried out the attack, one woman and one man, were neutralized by security forces.

Among those martyred in this treacherous attack were TUSAŞ quality controller Cengiz Coşkun, TUSAŞ mechanical engineer Zahide Güçlü Ekici, TUSAŞ employee Hasan Hüseyin Cambaz, TUSAŞ security officer Atakan Şahin Erdoğan, and taxi driver Murat Arslan.

HER ILL DAUGHTER HAD RETURNED HOME

Born in 1988, Ekici faced great difficulties in recent years. While she was grieving the loss of her mother in late 2020, she was shaken in 2021 by the cancer diagnosis of her only child, her daughter E.

The little girl, who received treatment in hospital for 2 years until 2023 and had begun to recover, had recently returned home.

SHE MET HER HUSBAND AT UNIVERSITY

Zahide Güçlü Ekici married Yalçın Ekici, whom she met while studying in the Mechanical Engineering department at Balıkesir University, after completing her undergraduate education.

Yalçın Ekici, who now continues his profession at a private company, worked at TUSAŞ for a period, like his wife.

SHE WORKED AS AN ENGINEER ON GÖKBEY

Zahide Güçlü Ekici, who frequently took part in TUSAŞ's nationalization and localization projects, also played an active role in the production of the GÖKBEY helicopter, manufactured according to Turkey's geographical and climatic conditions for use by the Turkish Armed Forces and in civil aviation.

SHE HELPED CHILDREN WITH CANCER

The 36-year-old chief engineer, known by those close to her for her frequent charitable deeds, especially extended a helping hand to children with cancer.

Chief engineer Zahide Güçlü Ekici, whose field of expertise was mechanical engineering, was wounded in the treacherous attack as she went down to the gatehouse to receive the flowers sent by her husband for their wedding anniversary, and despite all interventions at the hospital where she was taken, she was martyred.
