TKP takes to the streets against poverty: 'I object to the reign of the 1 percent!'

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) is taking to the streets in 4 major cities on January 19 under the call 'I have an objection'. The protests against poverty and misery will take place simultaneously in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, and Eskişehir on Sunday, January 19, at 15:30.

The call text published by the TKP included the following statement: "While the vast majority of the people struggle with hunger and poverty, we object to the 1 percent of the population plundering our country."

The TKP has also launched a petition campaign titled 'I Have an Objection'.

The full text of the petition is as follows:

"I am a citizen of this country. While the vast majority of the people struggle with hunger and poverty, I object to the 1 percent of the population receiving 14 percent of the national income and owning 40 percent of the wealth. I reject the claim that this happy minority, who enjoy the cream of our country, is smarter, harder-working, or luckier than I am. I have an objection to this inequality that touches my human dignity."
