The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters will present 9 plays to the audience, with a focus on works by classic and contemporary writers.
WHICH THEATER PLAYS ARE ON THIS WEEK?
The new work "İkinci Perdenin Başı" (The Beginning of the Second Act), written and directed by Alp Tuğhan Taş, will meet art lovers at the Müze Gazhane Meydan Stage from October 30 to November 2.
Director Engin Alkan's unique interpretation of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" at the Kağıthane Sadabad Stage, the play "Tartuffe" at the Üsküdar Musahipzade Celal Stage, "Fosforlu Cevriye," which presents the Istanbul of the 1930s-1940s with rich descriptions, at the Ümraniye Stage, "Hayat Der Gülümserim" at the Üsküdar Kerem Yılmazer Stage, and "Kuğunun Şarkısı" (Swan Song), consisting of Anton Chekhov's one-act short plays, at the Müze Gazhane Prof. Dr. Sevda Şener Stage will meet the audience from October 30 to November 2.
The play "Zehir" (Poison), starring Sevinç Erbulak and Ahmet Saraçoğlu, can also be seen on November 2 at the Beylikdüzü Rasim Öztekin Stage.
As part of the 28th Istanbul Theatre Festival organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the Kocaeli City Theaters' play "War and Peace" will be presented on October 31, and the play "Hecuba, Not Hecuba," written and directed by Tiago Rodrigues, will be presented to theater lovers on November 2-3 at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage.
STATE THEATER PLAYS
At the Istanbul State Theaters, the plays "Frankenstein (32 Kısım Tekmili Birden)" at the Mecidiyeköy Grand Stage and "Eyvah Nadir" at the Üsküdar Tekel Stage can be seen from October 29 to November 3, while "Babamın Kelimeleriyle" (With My Father's Words) at the Mecidiyeköy Studio Stage and "Meraklısı İçin Öyle Bir Hikaye" (Such a Story for the Curious) at the Üsküdar Studio Stage can be seen from October 29 to November 2.
The play "Gişe" (Box Office) will be staged at the Garibaldi Stage from October 31 to November 3, and the children's play "Çöp Canavarı" (Trash Monster) will be staged at the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center on October 30.
Türkiye İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum is free until October 31
The Türkiye İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum can be visited for free until October 31 to mark the first anniversary of its opening.
Located on Istiklal Avenue in Beyoğlu, the museum draws from the Türkiye İş Bankası Art Collection, one of Turkey's extensive and comprehensive private collections, which includes over 2,700 works.
Works by the first names that come to mind when talking about Turkish painting and sculpture, such as Osman Hamdi Bey, Mihri Hanım, Şeker Ahmed Paşa, Hoca Ali Rıza, İbrahim Çallı, Kuzgun Acar, Şadi Çalık, and Ali Teoman Germaner, are presented to visitors at the museum.
The permanent exhibition titled "Watching Turkish Painting in the Light of the Türkiye İş Bankası Art Collection" and the temporary exhibition titled "Taste and Art: Delicious Paintings" can also be seen at the museum.
WHICH CONCERTS ARE ON THIS WEEK?
Hosting popular names in alternative and contemporary music, Salon İKSV will welcome singer Naika on October 31, and the music collective Bon Entendeur, which reinterprets classic French hits, on November 1 and 2.
The "MIX Festival presented by %100 Müzik," which the Zorlu Performing Arts Center (PSM) will hold for the 8th time this year on November 2-3 with the motto of a "polyphonic festival," will bring together popular names from electronic to indie, rap to dance music for 2 days.
The festival will feature Bedük, Hissikablelvuku, Timuçin Coşkun, Superbebek, Monday In Neptune, Temples, Milky Chance, Digitalism, ?tella, Yin Yin, Catching File, and Non on November 2, and Altın Gün, Cem Yıldız, Can Temiz, Orhan Tanrıver, Starsailor, Trentemoller, Balthvs, Lucky Love, Local Natives, Cisetta, and Jamie S on November 3.
At the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall (CRR), the Goldmund Quartet, considered one of the leading string quartets of the young generation, will give its first concert in Turkey on October 30.
Composer and pianist Ali Perret and tenor saxophonist Ricky Ford will perform their original compositions with their orchestras on November 1, and will also come together with their "Big Bands" to offer a unique interaction and musical duel on stage.
