Alanya onion enters scientific literature

Ahmet Tıraş, who lives in Alanya and conducts amateur studies on plants, encountered a type of onion in the mountainous area around Söğüt Plateau that he thought was different.

Tıraş sent detailed photographs of the plant to Prof. Dr. Hasan Yıldırım, a faculty member at the Ege University Botanical Garden and Herbarium Research and Application Center.

As a result of the research, it was determined that the plant was not recorded in the literature.
