A guide to preparing Ramadan pita at home

Those who do not enjoy waiting in line for pita can also prepare Ramadan pita at home.
PITA INGREDIENTS
- 1 packet of instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 6 cups flour
For the topping:
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds or nigella seeds
HOW TO MAKE RAMADAN PITA?
- Add the yeast and granulated sugar to the warm water and mix. After waiting a few minutes, add the vegetable oil and milk.
- After adding the flour and salt, knead until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Once the dough reaches the appropriate consistency, divide it into two.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise at room temperature for about half an hour.
- While the dough is resting, whisk together the yogurt, egg yolks, and vegetable oil for the sauce you will spread on top.
- Line your baking tray with parchment paper and transfer the dough onto it. Grease your hands and shape the dough into a pita with your hands.
- Let your doughs rise on the tray for another 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, set the oven to 180 degrees and start preheating. Score the tops of the risen pitas with the tip of a knife to create a diamond pattern.
- Spread the yogurt mixture you prepared over your pitas.
- Finally, sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds.
- When your pitas have puffed up and turned golden brown, they are ready.
