How to make lahmacun at home, what ingredients are used?

Lahmacun is a type of flatbread made by spreading a mixture prepared with ground meat, parsley, onions, garlic, and spices such as black pepper and isot (red pepper) onto rolled-out dough and baking it in a stone oven.

There are 150 calories in 100 grams of lahmacun.

The ingredients used can vary depending on the region or the season.

For example, ingredients such as pepper paste, pistachios, and green peppers can be added.

LAHMACUN INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg lean ground meat
  • 1 kilo 200 grams of tomatoes
  • 5 bunches of parsley
  • 200 grams of green bell peppers
  • 100 grams of garlic (fresh or dried)
  • 1 tablespoon of pepper paste
  • Black pepper and salt

HOW IS LAHMACUN MADE?

  • The parsley leaves are separated from the stems.
  • The garlic is cleaned, and the seeds are removed from the peppers.
  • After cleaning is finished, all ingredients are chopped with a traditional curved knife (zırh) or processed in a food processor until they reach a minced consistency; the ground meat is then added, and it is mixed thoroughly to obtain a filling.
  • The prepared filling is used by the baker to make and bake the lahmacuns with flatbread dough in a pide oven.

Note: It is important for the flavor that the ingredients are minced with a traditional curved knife, that spices are added according to preference, and that it is baked in a stone oven using oak wood.
