Minister Tunç's statement on the killing of Ayşenur: 'It shows she was targeted'

The autopsy results for Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by Israeli fire in the West Bank, have been determined. A statement on the matter came from Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, in his statement regarding the preliminary autopsy report of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was murdered by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, said, "The evidence we have shows that she was targeted by being shot from behind in a planned manner."

Minister of Justice Tunç, regarding Eygi's preliminary autopsy report, stated, "The evidence we have shows this; we believe that Ayşenur was martyred by being targeted, by being shot in a planned manner, by being shot from behind as the peaceful demonstration was about to end, by being singled out, and by being targeted. The evidence points in that direction."

Making a statement after the meeting, Minister Tunç said that a comprehensive file regarding the investigation launched in Palestine into the killing of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi had been delivered to the Ministry of Justice.

Emphasizing that an investigation was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office using the authority derived from domestic law following the killing of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, Minister Tunç provided the information, "Within the scope of this investigation, we have conveyed the necessary request for judicial assistance to the State of Palestine through our Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

There was an investigation launched in Palestine. All documents, information, and images related to the evidence collected regarding this investigation and the autopsy procedures performed there were presented today by the Ambassador as part of the file."

'THE BULLET IS STILL WITH PALESTINIAN AUTHORITIES, IT WILL BE STUDIED'

Minister Tunç stated that an autopsy was performed in Palestine following the death of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, and subsequently, an autopsy procedure was also carried out by the İzmir Forensic Medicine Group Presidency, adding, "Our forensic medicine institution has reported that our sister Ayşenur Ezgi was martyred, was killed, due to a bullet damaging the brain after being shot from a distance, entering behind her left ear. The bullet is still in the hands of the Palestinian judicial authorities; we have a request regarding it. We will continue our work regarding the re-examination of the bullet here and, if necessary, an additional report on this matter."
