Lavender is a Mediterranean plant species that looks like a shrub and blooms with blue, purplish, or red flowers in clustered spikes. 90 percent of Turkey's lavender production is provided in the village of Kuyucak in Isparta. Lavender's widest area of use is the cosmetics sector. These days, however, it is possible to talk about lavender in the culinary world in Turkey and around the world. Lavender flavors are now featured as special delicacies on the luxury menus of famous chefs. Lavender ice cream, custard, pudding, panna cotta, cookies and cakes, jams and jellies infused with lavender, and lavender-flavored chocolate and macarons are among the most consumed lavender delicacies. As for drinks, lavender tea, lavender syrup, and lavender lemonade are the first that come to mind. If you haven't met a lavender-infused delicacy yet, here are 3 popular lavender recipes...

LAVENDER CUPCAKE

Ingredients

For the cake

3 eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

4 tablespoons melted butter

Half a tea glass of vegetable oil

1 cup milk

2 cups flour

1 packet vanilla

1 packet baking powder

For the lavender frosting

1 cup butter

4 cups powdered sugar

2-3 tablespoons milk

1 packet vanilla

1 teaspoon lavender extract

A very small amount of purple food coloring

Half a teaspoon of dried lavender
    
Preparation

For the cake, whisk the eggs and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Then add the melted butter, vegetable oil, and milk, and continue whisking. Add the flour, vanilla, and baking powder. Mix well with the help of a spatula. Divide the batter you have prepared into greased molds. Bake in a preheated 175-degree oven for about 25 minutes.
For the frosting; transfer the butter to a deep bowl and add half of the powdered sugar, whisking with a mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add 2-3 tablespoons of milk, vanilla, lavender extract, dried lavender, and food coloring. Add the remaining powdered sugar and whisk until smooth. Add milk if necessary. Pipe the prepared frosting onto the cupcakes you have taken out of the oven and cooled. Serve by sprinkling a pinch of dried lavender on top. Enjoy your meal.

LAVENDER COOKIES

Ingredients

200 grams butter

Half a cup of powdered sugar

2 eggs

2.5 cups flour

1 packet baking powder

1 tablespoon lavender seeds

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Preparation

Roast the lavender seeds in a dry pan over low heat to release their scent. Whisk the butter and sugar. Add the egg and continue whisking. Chop the roasted lavender seeds as finely as possible with a knife. Add the lemon zest and lavender seeds and mix. Add the baking powder and flour as well. Wrap the cookie dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees 5-10 minutes before taking the cookie dough out of the refrigerator. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, shape the cookie dough into your desired size or use molds, and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. After taking them out of the oven, leave them to cool for about 10 minutes without touching them. Enjoy your meal.
