HOW TO MAKE AL DENTE PASTA?

First of all, you need to choose the right pot to boil the pasta in. Pasta is not boiled in shallow pots. You need to use a tall and deep pot. This way, you can easily increase the water capacity by using a high pot. After choosing the appropriate pot, you need to fill three-quarters of it with water.

After adding salt to the boiling water, pour the pasta into the water. 1 teaspoon of salt, 100 grams of pasta, one liter of water. Considering that a package of pasta is usually 500 grams, what you need to boil one package of pasta is 5 liters of water and 2 tablespoons of salt.

The time required for the pasta to cook to an al dente consistency is on average 8-10 minutes. However, this may change depending on the type of pasta. At this stage, you can achieve the correct al dente consistency by using the notes on the package as a guide.

The most important point to pay attention to when draining your pasta is not to rinse the pasta under cold water because, contrary to popular belief, pasta should not be rinsed. You can set aside a portion of the pasta water to use for flavoring the pasta sauce you will prepare.

If you are going to sauce your al dente pasta, be careful not to continue cooking the pasta in the sauce. Otherwise, the shortened cooking time you aimed for will be meaningless, and you will end up with soft pasta.
