What is çiriş herb, where does it grow?
Growing especially in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions, çiriş herb is a yellow-flowered, multi-leafed plant from the lily family, also known as yellow lily, mountain leek, wild leek, gülik, güllük, kirkiş herb, kirgiç, and çiviş.
Elazığ, Malatya, Erzincan, Tunceli, and Bingöl in particular, as well as many other provinces across the region, are home to the natural growth of çiriş herb—locally known as gulik herb—at high altitudes, which is said to be a storehouse of healing for many diseases.
Experts state that because this herb is rich in Vitamin C, it strengthens the immune system, helps urinary tract infections heal rapidly, and provides significant contributions to the healing process of dermatological conditions such as acne and eczema.
