Sushi styles and presentations vary widely, and its main component is sushi rice, also known as shari or sumeshi.
Although it is a dish that originated in Japan, it is consumed in all Far Eastern countries.
Sushi is traditionally made with medium-grain white rice, but it can also be prepared with brown rice or short-grain rice.
