450 kilograms of spoiled meat seized
During a roadside inspection in Zonguldak, 450 kilograms of spoiled meat were seized after a strong odor emanated from a vehicle; the products were destroyed by authorities.
Teams from the Zonguldak Provincial Gendarmerie Command, conducting routine traffic checks in the city, stopped a light commercial vehicle they found suspicious and began an inspection. Following the intense odor emitted by the meat inside the vehicle, the situation was reported to municipal police and District Agriculture Directorate officials.
In an assessment conducted by health teams at the scene, it was determined that the 450 kilograms of meat being transported were severely spoiled and that hygiene conditions were not met. It was stated that the spoiled meat could pose a significant risk to human health, and the distribution of these products to the market was prevented.
Following the report prepared by the authorities, the seized meat was taken away to be destroyed in an appropriate manner under the supervision of municipal teams. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals associated with the incident.
