Attention e-cigarette users: Uranium found...

Researchers from the University of Nebraska conducted a study examining the effects of e-cigarettes on young people.

The study involved teenagers aged 13 to 17 who reported using e-cigarettes at least eight times a day.

As reported by TRT Haber; the results of the study revealed that the urine of young people who regularly use e-cigarettes contained 30 percent more lead and twice as much uranium compared to those who use them occasionally.

Although the study does not include a control group consisting of young people who have never used e-cigarettes, the clear pattern in the US sample of 200 e-cigarette users who avoid smoking reveals that the situation is concerning.

Uranium biomarkers are particularly high among young people who prefer sweet e-cigarette flavors instead of menthol or mint.

In terms of public health, researchers advocate for further studies regarding the potential toxicity of e-cigarettes.
