Deadly bacteria scandal in Şenpiliç product: Sales continued despite recall order

A decision was made to recall Şenpiliç's 'Piliç Kasap Köfte' (Chicken Butcher Meatballs) product after the deadly L. monocytogenes bacteria was detected in it. However, it has emerged that these products were being sold at a discount in a store in Ankara's Keçiören district.

The food inspection platform 'Denetle!' announced that tests conducted on Şenpiliç's 'Annemin Köftesi Piliç Kasap Köfte' (My Mother's Meatballs Chicken Butcher Meatballs) product with batch number 204125 revealed the presence of the deadly L. monocytogenes bacteria. Following this development, it was decided that the relevant products should be immediately recalled and that the Şenpiliç company should be fined 210 thousand TL.

However, despite the recall order, it was determined that the products in question were being offered for sale at a discount in some markets.

The L. monocytogenes bacterium can cause serious infections that can be fatal, especially for individuals with weakened immune systems.
