Doğruluk Payı investigates claims of fines for missing MHRS appointments
According to Doğruluk Payı, there is no monetary fine for those who miss their appointments in the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS); the measure is limited to a 15-day restriction on booking appointments in the same specialty.
On social media, it was claimed that administrative fines are imposed on individuals who fail to attend appointments made through the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) three times. According to an investigation by Doğruluk Payı, this claim is not true.
The image subject to the claim alleged that an administrative fine was reflected in an account due to missing three or more appointments within the last 6 months. The text cited "Article 47 of the T.R. Ministry of Health Patient Rights Regulation" and the "Circular on the Effective Use of the Appointment System (2024/18)" as the basis.
However, Doğruluk Payı stated that Article 47 of the Patient Rights Regulation does not relate to the imposition of fines on patients who miss MHRS appointments. The article in question regulates disciplinary, legal, and criminal liabilities that may arise if patient rights are violated by personnel who are not public officials.
THE SANCTION IS NOT A MONETARY FINE
In the Ministry of Health's MHRS system, no monetary fine is imposed on individuals who do not attend an appointment they have confirmed and do not cancel it. According to the Ministry's information, in such cases, the individual cannot make a new appointment in the same specialty for 15 days.
The purpose of the practice is to reduce the idle capacity created in the system due to appointments that are made but not used. Thus, it is aimed for individuals who will not be able to attend their appointments to cancel them in advance and for the vacated slots to be opened to other patients.
FAKE SITE WARNING
According to information provided by Doğruluk Payı, similar posts are also linked to attempts to collect card information through fake websites. Some users stated that after searching for "MHRS" on search engines, they were directed to links that resemble the official site and were asked for payment on the grounds that they had missed an appointment.
MHRS appointments can be made through the official website, mobile application, and the ALO 182 call center. It is important for users to be cautious against pages that request payment or card information and imitate the official address, and to conduct their transactions only through official channels.
