Experts warn against 'yellow serum' at home! 'Don't lose your life'
Experts have issued renewed warnings against the treatment known as "yellow serum." Pointing out that such intravenous serum applications performed at home carry significant risks, experts state that unless they are administered under proper medical supervision and in appropriate settings, they can lead to serious health problems or even death.
As the investigation continues into the recent death of a 64-year-old individual who fell ill after being administered a "yellow serum" at home in Ataşehir, an important statement was issued by the Ministry of Health. The Ministry stated that such serum applications should only be performed upon a physician's decision, in appropriate healthcare settings, and by trained medical personnel.
It was stated that the "yellow serum" application can only be administered under physician supervision and under the right conditions for individuals experiencing health issues such as severe fluid loss and vitamin deficiencies.

SERUM APPLICATION AT HOME CAN BE DANGEROUS
Experts issued warnings against the treatment known as "yellow serum," emphasizing that serum applications performed at home can lead to serious health problems. In particular, anaphylaxis (an allergic reaction) that may occur when a serum is administered can be life-threatening as it can develop rapidly. Experts noted that the effect of the serum begins quickly and that it becomes difficult for patients to reach a hospital in the event of any adverse reaction. It was stated that such treatments should only be performed in a hospital setting under physician supervision.
APPLICATIONS PERFORMED AT HOME CAN RAPIDLY LEAD TO SERIOUS REACTIONS
"Serum treatments performed at home can lead to anaphylactic reactions that can quickly become fatal," the statement said, with experts noting that serum application should only be performed by taking the patient's specific health conditions into account and under appropriate medical conditions. No medication or serum should be administered in an environment outside of a hospital.

ADMINISTERING SERUM FOR UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS IS A WRONG APPROACH
It was stated that administering serum for upper respiratory tract infections, fatigue, muscle aches, and similar conditions is not the correct solution. Experts indicated that such complaints can be treated with simple oral medications and that illnesses can be overcome through natural methods. Furthermore, it was emphasized that upper respiratory tract infections can be prevented through simple methods such as personal hygiene, healthy nutrition, and exercise.

SUCH APPLICATIONS CAN BE MORE DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN
Experts pointed out that children are more sensitive to such serum applications and that home serum treatment for children can be even more dangerous. Families were warned that such procedures should be avoided for children. Experts emphasized that medical procedures for children should only be performed in environments where medical supervision is provided.
