Health Minister Koca issues 'organ donation' call
Stating that an average of 2 thousand people die annually in Turkey due to brain death, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has issued a call for organ donation.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stated that an average of 2 thousand people die annually in Turkey due to brain death, adding, "Those who have no chance other than an organ transplant for their treatment are on the verge of death at any moment. By deciding as a family to donate the organs of your relative who has been declared brain dead, you can ensure they become a source of life."
Minister Koca shared the following in a post on his social media account for the November 3-9 Organ Donation Week:
"In our country, an average of 2 thousand people die annually due to brain death. Those who have no chance other than an organ transplant for their treatment are on the verge of death at any moment. By deciding as a family to donate the organs of your relative who has been declared brain dead, you can ensure they become a source of life. Even when you are no longer alive, you can save one, perhaps more, people from death. The only way to do this is to become an organ donor. Make this decision."
Ülkemizde, yılda ortalama 2 Bin kişi beyin ölümü gerçekleşerek vefat ediyor. Tedavisi için organ naklinden başka başka şansı olmayanlar ise her an ölümün eşiğinde. Aile olarak vereceğiniz kararla beyin ölümü gerçekleşen yakınınızın organlarını bağışlarsanız onun bir hayat kaynağı…
