Health Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu stated that recent claims regarding an increase in upper respiratory tract infections do not reflect the truth. Arguing that the number of flu-like infections is at the same rate as last year, Minister Memişoğlu said that the country is experiencing a period dominated by the influenza virus, and that this is a seasonal rise.

'THIS IS A SEASONAL RISE'
Minister Memişoğlu's response to the claims that upper respiratory tract infections have increased is as follows:
"It is stated that our number of flu-like infections has increased, but the public should know that there is no difference compared to our previous years. We are experiencing a period dominated by the influenza virus in the same way. This is a seasonal rise. I would like to specifically state that there is no difference from previous years. We can manage these types of flu cases more effectively and with less spread, especially in family health centers, by resting and avoiding crowded areas. We ask the public to be careful in this regard."
