Hospital examination fees have changed: SSI has announced new co-payments

The Social Security Institution (SSI) has updated the examination co-payments to be applied in secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions with an amendment to the Health Implementation Communiqué. The regulation has entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette.

NEW FEES DETERMINED FOR SECONDARY AND TERTIARY LEVELS

According to the new regulation, the co-payment for physician and dentist examinations performed at secondary-level public healthcare providers will be applied as 50 TL.

The examination co-payment will be 90 TL at training and research hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health and their district polyclinics, hospitals classified as tertiary level by the Ministry, and at medical and dental faculty hospitals and health practice and research centers of state universities.

The co-payment will be applied as 100 TL at hospitals and health practice and research centers within the structure of medical and dental faculties of foundation universities. The same fee will also be valid for examinations performed at secondary and tertiary private healthcare institutions.

DISCOUNT TO BE APPLIED FOR EXAMINATIONS WITH FAMILY PHYSICIAN REFERRAL

Within the scope of the communiqué, the co-payment to be collected for physician and dentist examinations for those who apply to healthcare institutions with a referral from family physicians who have signed a contract with, been assigned by, or been authorized by the Ministry of Health will be collected with a 50 percent discount.

ANOTHER AMENDMENT MADE TO THE COMMUNIQUÉ

Within the scope of the regulation, the phrase "5" in the relevant article of the Health Implementation Communiqué has also been changed to "30".

The new provisions entered into force as of July 1, 2026, the date they were published in the Official Gazette.
