Joint pain and bone problems increase with the cold
While the cold weather experienced during the winter months primarily causes illnesses such as colds and the flu, it also leads to joint and bone pain for some citizens.
Excess weight gained during the winter months also bothers citizens. Those who want to get rid of illnesses and excess weight prefer herbal products.
Tamer Şahin, who has been an herbalist in Sinop for 13 years, warned citizens by providing information about medicinal plants and mixtures that offer natural support against illnesses. Stating that problems such as colds, the flu, and coughs are very common, Şahin listed herbal solutions.
Şahin said, "Plants such as hibiscus, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and marshmallow flower, which are used for colds, the flu, and coughs, as well as those that eliminate problems like post-nasal drip, are at the forefront. For coughs and lung diseases, we recommend pine cone molasses, and pastes we prepare ourselves that contain ginger, turmeric, as well as nettle seed and pine cone molasses are the products we recommend most."
JOINT PAIN AND BONE PROBLEMS INCREASE
Explaining herbal solutions for joint and bone pain, Şahin said, "Among the complaints that increase more with the cold months are joint pain and bone problems. For these, we most frequently provide oleaster seed powder, which has been very prominent lately; combining these with okra seed and bovine gelatin, or using them separately with the help of yogurt, yields serious results for joint and bone pain," he said.
Stating that edema-reducing teas are effective for the excess weight gained in the winter months, Şahin said, "After the summer months, weight gain problems increase more with the shortening of days and increased appetite. In this regard, teas that both reduce edema and provide appetite control, giving a feeling of fullness, are at the forefront.
Along with ready-made products, we prepare products that help with weight loss by combining plants such as rosemary, green tea, and senna, which increase the activity of the digestive system and intestines," he said.
Explaining the benefits of essential oils against focus deficiencies in children, Şahin added that rosemary, lavender, and peppermint oils are effective against focus problems.
