Minister announces: Have COVID cases increased?

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu attended the "Provincial Evaluation Meeting", which was held behind closed doors at the Adana City Training and Research Hospital.

Speaking there about the recent increase in upper respiratory tract infections, Memişoğlu stated that there is no abnormal situation.

'NO ABNORMAL INCREASE IN UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS'

Regarding a journalist's question about "the recent increase in the frequency of COVID-19 in children," Memişoğlu gave the following response:

"From October, November, and December through February and March, upper respiratory tract infections and infectious diseases generally increase due to indoor spaces and weather conditions. We do not have such an abnormal increase; it is following its natural course as it does in every period. In the Turkish health system, we have a system that manages by monitoring instant data and controlling every event and disease with our practices. Therefore, there is currently no abnormal situation or increase regarding these upper respiratory infections; it is normal and seasonal."
